About this Session

Using a humanistic, student-centered framework, the session addresses ways to foster inclusive, affirming environments in both classroom and supervision settings. Participants will consider how social justice, ethical standards, and queer pedagogies can inform their approach and help create safer educational spaces.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand ethical responsibilities for supporting LGBTQ+ students in counselor education, including student privacy, disclosure, and multicultural considerations.
  • Apply inclusive teaching strategies that affirm student identities and challenge bias in educational and clinical supervision settings.
