Empowering People with Disabilities Through Innovative Vocational Rehabilitation in Tech Careers

This session introduces AccessTECH, a national initiative that prepares people with disabilities for careers in high-demand technology fields like cybersecurity, cloud computing, and 3D printing. Presenters share how this fully accessible, online training program combines universal design, gamification, and partnerships with major tech employers to increase employment opportunities. Participants will explore how the project supports competitive integrated employment, builds staff capacity across vocational rehabilitation (VR) systems, and promotes disability inclusion in the tech industry.

  • Describe how AccessTECH’s online training model prepares people with disabilities for tech careers using accessible design, self-paced instruction, and hands-on experience.
  • Recognize how cross-sector partnerships with tech companies, VR agencies, and community providers can expand access and improve employment outcomes.
