Working with Veterans with Disabilities Living in Underserved Communities Webinar

Emre Umucu is an assistant professor of rehabilitation counseling and director of the Veteran Well-Being Lab at the Michigan State University. His education background includes rehabilitation counseling psychology, mental health and addiction, and neuropsychology. His research goal is to examine modifiable biopsychosocial risk and protective factors affecting psychosocial adjustment, resilience, well-being and happiness, and employment in individuals with disabilities through the lens of contemporary evidence-based theories, including positive psychology. One specific line in his funded and awarded research program has focused on studying processes and effects associated with well-being and happiness of military veterans in college settings and veterans with psychiatric disabilities. He has over 70 publications on psychosocial adjustment, employment, and well-being in people with disabilities. He has been active in grants as PI/CO-PI/Evaluator/Consultant of foundations, organizations, and federal grants.
