Dr. Bryan Austin is a consultant for the Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center-Quality Employment project at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and has worked in the field of rehabilitation and disability for 25 years. He earned his doctorate in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Idaho, and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Most notably, Dr. Austin has worked as an educator, researcher, vocational rehabilitation counselor, consultant, program coordinator, and project director

David Strauser is a professor at Illinois in the College of Applied Health Sciences. He specializes in the interaction between the physical and psychological functioning on the career development process and labor market participation of young adults. Additionally, his research interests include examining the impact of contextual factors such as poverty, employer perspectives, family, and the labor market on the overall employment and labor market participation of people with chronic health conditions.
