The American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation Services (AIVRS) Programs throughout the United States are located in very rural areas on government lands known as reservations. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, numerous AIVRS programs are facing unprecedented numbers of mental health cases, in addition to their already staggering mental health caseloads due to social and economic constricts of the Native American/Alaskan Native reservations.

This presentation addresses many of the issues that vocational rehabilitation programs face in their daily provision of services to American Indians/Alaskan Natives with disabilities who are overcoming obstacles to employment due to their disability and attempting to reach their employment goals.
