Collaborations to Address the Needs of Agricultural Workers with Disabilities
About this Session
This training introduces participants to the challenges and opportunities in serving agricultural workers with disabilities. It provides an overview of disability in agriculture and introduces AgrAbility, a program dedicated to improving the quality of life for farmers and ranchers with disabilities. The session includes an in-depth look at AgrAbility in one state, its partnership with vocational rehabilitation (VR), and the unique challenges faced by agricultural workers. Additionally, participants will learn about VR agency efforts to support these workers and access valuable resources for enhancing service delivery.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the relationship between AgrAbility and VR agencies, and how collaboration can help provide effective support to agricultural workers with disabilities.
- Identify key challenges faced by agricultural workers with disabilities, including access to resources, and explore strategies to overcome these barriers through VR and AgrAbility partnerships.
