This training explores how smart speaker technology, such as Amazon Alexa, can enhance the independence and quality of life for individuals with visual impairments. Participants will learn about the results of the FEEAD study, which investigated the effectiveness of smart speakers in supporting instrumental activities of daily living, including health management, communication, and leisure activities. The session highlights how accessible technology fosters autonomy and community participation while addressing barriers through practical applications of voice-controlled virtual assistants.
