Preliminary Results from the Tech Jobs Pilot Study for Black College Students with Disabilities
About this Session
This training introduces the Tech-Jobs Program, which aims to address the employment disparities faced by individuals with disabilities, particularly those from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds, in the technology industry. The program is focused on currently enrolled college students pursuing technology-related degrees who identify as having a disability. It discusses the development and evaluation of the program, highlighting the involvement of a Community Advisory Team. Preliminary findings from a pilot study provide insights into the career goals, challenges, and experiences of participants. The presentation also acknowledges the contributions of the team and the organizations supporting the program and invites further recruitment for the initiative.
